Will Electric Vehicles Take Over the World?

Electric vehicles were seen in fiction movies and novels. We all were obsessed with them. In the past, no one ever thought that it would change into reality. These are a tiny fraction of the well-known automobiles that are sold all over the world. According to an estimate it has declared that by 2040 electric cars would take over all passenger cars by 57%. These will be no different from the light automobiles sold in China, Europe, and the United States. Some of you will be thinking about how anyone would afford electric cars? Well, they are designing the version of electric cars that are like diesel-powered and gasoline-powered cars. The price of electric cars would be reasonable, and they would be accessed easily by everyone. Due to this reason, it is predicted that electric vehicles will be the future of the world and take over fuel combustion vehicles.

The electric vehicles’ sales will boost from 2 million to 56 million in the next two decades. Can you see, it is a huge increase in the sale of vehicles. With this increment, typical combustion vehicles’ sales will decrease from 85 million to about 42 million. This is how electric cars will replace fuel combustion vehicles. The decline in battery prices is another factor that will add more preference to them. We can also observe that battery prices are already falling. Nowadays,s more carmakers are trying to see the second phase of growth. So, they all are trying to give something better in the electric vehicle market.

What is new in electric vehicles?

Electric cars are designed to choose more freedom than traditional vehicles. Most of these vehicles are already invented, and we are expecting some evolutionary vehicles in the market soon. But, first of all, let me tell you about electric vehicles. An electric vehicle uses electric motors for propulsion instead of the traditional combustion process. It is powered through a collector system that works by using electricity, or there are powerful batteries like solar panels, electric generators, and others. All these power supply options simply carry on the conversion of fuel into electricity.  It all started in 1827 when for the very first time, Anyos Jedlik invented a viable electric motor powered crude. So, this was the base in the progress history of these vehicles. After that, the new changes and discoveries continued to transform electric vehicles. Till now, we have had remarkable electric vehicles.

According to researchers, it has stated that by 2025 almost all the sold cars would be electric. But, in my personal opinion, due to the current situation on COVID-19, it might not be possible. This pandemic has affected everyone’s plans. So, no one exactly knows what the future of the world is? In general, the batteries would be better in electric vehicles. Currently, they are using Lithium-ion batteries to power the electric motors. Shortly, these batteries will be replaced with better ones. Many popular motor companies are trying to replace lithium-ion batteries with solid-state batteries. In the solid-state batteries, the liquid electrolyte is vanished and replaced with the solid one. There are upcoming electric trucks, electric trains, electric cars, and many other vehicles.

Electric vehicles are best for our environment too. During the cold season, there is a need for heat to warm up the vehicle’s interior. In traditional vehicles, the combustion process also causes the heat to exit as waste. This heat causes the greenhouse phenomenon. So, in electric vehicles, the interior would be heated by the use of electric batteries. So, there would be fewer chances of environmental harm. In the new vehicles, they are inserting the super-insulated cabins that would use passengers’ body heat to heat the interior of the vehicles. This is not enough. But, there is still hope that they will make them enough.

Above all the features and pros, the main component that decides electric vehicles’ future is the customers. It will decide if they will accept low carbon transportation. It is understood that the price, quality, and features of these electric vehicles will be different. The acceptance of electric vehicles will make things clear. Battery costs will also ultimately affect the price of these vehicles. So, according to the average estimation, people will choose electric vehicles over carbon transportation. Most of the people cited that there is difficulty in charging these vehicles. Because we do not have enough charging spots, to overcome this problem, there is a need for more charging infrastructures to build, and other fast charging technologies are also needed to cope with it.
