Best PDF Editor Apps

Popular across the globe, PDF is a file format used to store text files. There are many reasons behind its popularity such as the text and fields of a PDF file that doesn’t move around depending on the device and window size, also once created, there natively cannot be any changes made to the file itself.

Now, that’s all great but there are times when you get into situations where you want to edit your PDF file, so what should you do then? Well, don’t worry there is a solution for that too. If you go to the google play store you’ll find a number of PDF editors. You don’t have to try all of them as in this article I’ll give you an overview of the best PDF editors for android. Now, you may be thinking why android specifically why not PDF editors for desktops, laptops (or even an iPhone for that matter). Well, at the moment there are over 2B active android devices out there, meaning you are more likely to carry an android device than an iPhone or a laptop. Following are the top PDF editors for android:

    • Kdan PDF Reader – Sign, Scan, Edit & Share PDF Document

Let’s explore them in detail.

  1. Adobe Fill & Sign: Easy PDF Doc & Form Filler

Price: Its free, has no ads or in-app purchases.

I’m sure I don’t really need to introduce you to Adobe, an American multinational computer software company it is one of the most popular brands when it comes to PDF.

Before I go on further I want to make sure that you know the difference between annotation & editing. Most of the time a PDF annotation app works just fine, you don’t always need a PDF editor.

Now, back to Adobe Fill and Sign, well, it’s an annotation app and the best one if you ask me, using it you can easily scan, fill, and sign the documents. What I personally love about this app, is the fact that it supports scanning documents, meaning you can just scan a physical document with your phone’s camera and proceed to fill or sign it.

Moreover, it allows you to create an account and fill in your info such as your name, phone number, residential address, and so forth. When filling up a form, just tap on the target profile field and all your info will automatically appear on the document. You can drag and drop it into the necessary field. With this custom autofill, entries feature you can fill forms even faster.

So, if you just want to fill and sign documents then this android app is definitely for you. After all, it is completely free.

  1. Xodo PDF Reader and Editor

Price: Like Adobe, it’s too free, has no ads or in-app purchases.

Next in line is the Xodo PDF Reader and Editor. Widely popular, this full-featured PDF editor for Android comes with a plethora of features to make editing, annotating, filling forms, and signing PDF files as easy & quick as it gets. Just like the previous app, it allows you to scan paper forms and edit them. Obviously, documents can be imported from the local storage or can be auto-sync with Dropbox, OneDrive, and other such cloud services.

As mentioned earlier, the app comes with a plethora of features. Some of its best features include PDF bookmarks, reflow, annotations, ability to fill and sign documents, ability to take notes on blank PDFs, support for MS Office Word, PowerPoint, & Excel files, built-in powerful organizer to properly manage the files, ability to merge, split, and rotate PDFs, and so forth.

So, if you want a powerful PDF editor for your Android phone that comes with a plethora of options to customize the way you work then you should definitely give this app a chance. Anyway, it wouldn’t cost you anything.

  1. Kdan PDF Reader – Sign, Scan, Edit & Share PDF Document

Price: The base app is free but also displays ads at regular intervals, so users who don’t like seeing ads would do well to subscribe to Kdan which will not only remove ads but will also give you access to additional features such as access to desktop apps, smart crop, ability to convert and fax documents online, and night mode.

It may not be something very special but it’s also not that bad either, it’s a fairly modest PDF reader, annotator, and editor. You can easily do all these things with just a few taps. Along, with importing documents from the local storage and cloud, like the two previous two apps, this one too allows you to scan a physical document and start editing it.

Its other features include fast document rendering, create and combine scans to multi-pages PDFs, use your finger or a stylus to make handwritten notes, insert hyperlinks, import, and export PDFs, bookmarking a specific page or section on the document, convert text into speech, clipboard monitor, easy to use UI, magnifying glass, continuous document scanning, and so on.

So, if you want a basic PDF editor with good annotation tools then this android app is ideal for you.

  1. OfficeSuite – Office, PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Price: It’s free but has ads and offers in-app purchases.

Anyone who has ever searched for an alternative to MS Office would’ve surely come across MobiSystems OfficeSuite. As easily evident from its name, it is much more than a simple PDF editor.

As far as PDF is concerned, well, you can create, fill, and sign PDF files. Using the OfficeSuite you can annotate PDF files with a variety of tools like notes, free-form text, highlighting, freehand writing, delete pages, and so forth. It also allows you to insert pictures from your local storage, camera, or the internet. Moreover, it is compatible with all the MS Office file formats, thus making it an app you just can’t resist.

You should definitely go for this app if you are looking for a good office suite that allows you to edit and annotate PDF documents.

  1. PDFelement – Free PDF Reader and Annotator

Price: Its free, has no ads or in-app purchases.

Hey, remember I said there is a difference between a PDF editor and annotator. Well, here we have another great PDF annotating app. What I personally love about this app is its UI which is pretty neat, user friendly, and thus makes it very easy to annotate PDF files. As far as the annotation tools are concerned, well, you can highlight, underline, and strikethrough text, add call out and text boxes, draw shapes, and so forth.

Moreover, it’s also an excellent PDF reader and makes it easy for you to manage your PDF files on the go. Now, it’s a great app and I love it but there is one thing about it that I don’t like which is that you need to have an account with it in order to edit or annotate PDF files. So, if that’s not an issue for you, well, then I can personally assure you that you’ll this app too (if you choose to use it).
